drainage for liveability webinar
ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Urban drainage assets are typically thought of as serving only one purpose; flood mitigation. Beyond this function however, drainage infrastructure can and needs to be part of a larger paradigm shift in the way we design our cities for increased liveability.

In this webinar, Suzanne Brown will share how the WA Water Corporation and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation are working together with local councils and communities to unlock the potential of mostly unseen and unloved drainage infrastructure. We will also talk about the challenges and opportunities in realising the full potential of these assets as part of improving urban spaces.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Suzanne Brown is a Civil Engineer with a Masters in Environmental Science and over 30 years of experience in the water industry, in Australia and UK. For the last 25 years, Suzanne has worked with WA Water Corporation in various roles including Manager Environment and Aboriginal Affairs, and now serves as Manager Drainage and Liveable Communities. She is also a Fellow of the Peter Cullen Trust of Water and Environment and was of the finalists for Water Professional of the Year in the 2018 Australian Water Awards.
